Nearly everything most people
believe about smoking is wrong.
Most other smoking cessation methods
emphasise how difficult it is to stop, list the awful withdrawal symptoms you
are likely to suffer and remind you of the risks you run of cancer or heart
disease. They then usually offer the hindrance of so-called nicotine
replacement therapy (really nicotine maintenance) or drugs. You’re almost
defeated before you’ve started.
In contrast, based on Dr Symonds’s experience of successfully treating hundreds of smokers, you will learn how it’s easy to stop if you know how.
It’s essential to understand the real reason you smoke, because you will
then realise it’s utterly and totally pointless, so you won’t want to do it any
more.
In other words, you will first lose the desire to smoke, then you will stop – not the other way round. Thus, you will have no difficulty in refraining from something you don't want to do.
For the large majority of smokers, this is achieved in a single ninety
minutes to two hours session of teaching and discussion.
Aversion therapy is not used – no horrible pictures! Very little is mentioned
about the harmful effects of smoking because these are
things smokers know already. Instead, you will be taught things you probably
don't know or fully understand. Hypnosis, acupuncture, drugs or other gimmicks
are not used, and the sessions take place in a relaxed and supportive
atmosphere.
The fee is ¥60,000 for an individual or ¥80,000 for a couple. A few people may need a further one or even two sessions for which there is no extra charge. Unlimited free telephone and e-mail support are also provided.
This question doesn't really apply. What you will learn is not so much a method with a certain success rate, but a new way of looking at smoking which, once it is understood, in theory cannot fail. The important thing is to make a commitment to yourself that you will return for one or more free sessions in the unlikely event that you have not happily stopped after coming the first time.
